Advantages

In our projects we actively use open source components and libraries. Open source components have various advantages compared to closed source components. The availability of binary and source releases at no cost is the most obvious one, but the free availability of the source code brings other advantages. Scoping and fixing of problems can be easier when the source code is available for inspection and possibly also for modification.

Usage of open source components in software projects brings cost savings to customers, because significant parts can be based on freely available components instead of developing them from scratch.

Own applications

As part of our service portfolio we develop and maintain open source software for various purposes and needs. They can be helpful utilities in customer projects, "Proof of Concept" implementations or otherwise insteresting applications. In addition to their applicability in our projects they serve as a demonstration of Mysema's development standards and style.
