Case: Unified search portal for Museums

Mysema has designed and implemented the renewal of the Finnish Museums Online service.

The original goal of the project was to replace the backend system with a license free one. During the first customer meeting it became clear that there were serious usability issues and it was decided to replace the whole user interface. The result is an easy to use, stylish, simple and responsive service, which combines the collections of finnish museums into one service. The customer was very happy with the process and the result.

Using the Scrum process a tight schedule and budget were guaranteed. Using Scrum we would easily change the focus of the project flexibly during the implementation and concreate on the features, which were most important for the customer.

Case: Renewal of a production system

A large media company renewed it's production system for products and online services. The application offers a content and workflow management system based on rich metadata. For the content generation the application integrates with Adobe's content editing software. The architecture was based on a versioning client/server infrastructure and enabled the journalists to work online and offline. The client side of the application is based on the Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP). As a subcontractor Mysema was responsible for the application's demanding architecture especially concerning the RCP client side and the client / server communication.

Case: LibNet

LehtiMarket renewed it's journal subscription management service LibNet� fully in 2006. The service is directed to libraries, information services, offices, communities and companies of all sizes. The service integrates all features related to journal subscription handling such as issue search, subscription, arrival tracking, circulation list management, reclamation, subscription renewal, reporting and expense tracking. Mysema was responsible for the implementation of the application together with A-Ware and the customer's technical staff. After the new service went into production, we continued with the maintenance and enhancement of the software.

Case: Business outsourcing

A finnish new media house wanted to outsource some of it's core business. The main developers of an inhouse software were not anymore available and the documentation of the software was sparse. As a subcontractor Mysema explored the available services and improved the documentation for maintenance. We also assisted in high priority service updates.

Case: Data migration from old to new system

As part of a large scale ERP project Mysema developed a software for data migration from the old system to the new one. Existing related commercial software, such as Oracle Warehouse Builder, weren't flexible enough to adapt to the fast changing schema of the target model. The lightweight and agile ETL-tool enabled a cost effective data migration.
